2025 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Is The Ultimate Hybrid Truck

At this point, it is clear that the 2025 Honda Ridgeline will not receive any significant interior or exterior changes. A full redesign is possible for the 2026 model year, but it’s more realistic to expect it in 2027. Check out timeline changes between 2016 and 2022 MY here.

However, many sources claim this Honda pickup truck will receive significant changes under the hood. Yes, you guessed it—it’s the long-awaited 2025 Ridgeline Hybrid.

If this comes to pass, we expect the truck to feature a mild hybrid engine. Competition is strong in the hybrid truck segment for 2025, with the Tacoma Hybrid and Ranger Hybrid leading the way. However, we believe that the 2025 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will quickly rise to the top of this list.

Interestingly, this hybrid truck is also expected to bring cosmetic upgrades to the Trailsport trim. We anticipate a new infotainment system and an innovative dashboard.

2025 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Specs

The standard model of the 2025 Honda Ridgeline is equipped with a well-known 3.5-liter V6 engine. This powertrain will produce approximately 280 horsepower with 256 pounds of torque.

On the other hand, the hybrid powertrain specifications are not yet officially known. But since mild hybrids will be reserved for top-tier trims, we expect them to offer more power and torque.

According to all the rumors that we can find, our best guess is an engine with 350 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. This hybrid powertrain comes paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive AWD comes standard for all Ridgeline hybrid models. When it comes to the towing capacity, it is limited to 5000 pounds, just like for the regular model.

In any case, we expect a more powerful engine than the one available in the Civic hybrid.

Of course, the biggest positive side of hybrid power units is their fuel economy. We expect only the best from Honda: impressive fuel economy and nothing less.

2025 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Expected Price

The starting price for a Ridgeline is about $40.000 for a base model. For top-tier trims, we expect the price to go up to $48.000. For models with a hybrid powertrain under the hood, we expect the starting price to be $44.500. Honda will offer multiple trims with an electrified engine, and the top premium model will cost customers around $49.000.

There will be a total of four trims available for the upcoming Ridgeline. The two base trims, Sport and RTL, will come with a gasoline engine, and TrailSport and Black Edition will be available with a mild hybrid.

The TrailSport will be more off-road-focused with its underbody protection and all-terrain tires. The Black Edition will offer more premium features, like a special leather interior. Premium sound system that will be paired with a state-of-the-art infotainment system and ambient lighting.

Honda Hybrid Truck Release Date

According to the latest reports, the 2025 Honda Ridgeline hybrid will be introduced in December 2024. However, the purchase won’t be available before the first quarter of 2025. So there is a huge possibility for Honda’s first hybrid truck to be introduced as a 2026 model. But at this moment, there is no official news from Honda, so it’s all based on rumors.

When it comes to competition, it’s safe to say that there are aspects in which the Ridgeline pickup has no competition. Especially if it gets a new high-performance hybrid powertrain, this truck will further stand out from the competition. Its unibody chassis and payload are things that make it stand out.

We believe that many truck enthusiasts can’t wait to see the Ridgeline Hybrid, which is sure to be in high demand. We also expect the new version to retain the 1,600-pound payload.
